They have provided hope for these children and giving them a brighter future.<br /><br />If you go to the place, you will be able to see the children, the staff and the friendly Nanays. One Nanay is assigned for every house that takes care of a specific number of children. The non-government organization (NGO) is found in Manila, Iloilo, Davao, Cebu, Lipa, Calbayog and Tacloban.<br /><br />A part of SOS Kinderdorf International, SOS Children’s Village Cebu was founded on Jan. 9, 1979.<br /><br />Hermann Gmeiner founded SOS in 1949 as the Children’s Village in Austria for World War 2 orphans. He was convinced that help is effective only if a child grows within a family and a home.<br /><br />There are now 40,000 children living in 380 villages in 130 countries.
